GMI is one of the world’s leading providers of gas detection equipment to the gas distribution and utilities market. We were invited to greatly enhance the detection process used by mobile fleets for FR (First Responder), FCO (First Call Operative) and ELR (Emergency Leak Response) teams.
vision
The solution needed to allow the data gathered from the gas measurement instrument to be read and displayed by the tablet, and support this data with the tablets extra functionality such as the camera. This would provide operators with the ability to efficiently assess the full extent of a gas leak. The completed job would then provide visual data & information not previously obtainable with just an instrument.
impact
Gas leak data is now presented in a way to facilitate the operator in making an informed decision efficiently, like evacuating a building. In addition, the data captured will help identify trends and influence decisions with maintenance and future developments. As a result, this is now in the process of being rolled out to one of the largest gas networks in the UK.
